Blouse
Our unassuming blouse pattern is actually one of the icons of my company. We REALLY took a different approach when designing these blouses, because we made them completely different than most "costume chemises" you'd find at renaissance festivals.
*First off, the cut is much closer to the body, with less poofy sleeves. Second, we made them CAP sleeved versions, instead of a normal short sleeve. I wish I had pictures of what a huge difference there is between the two. Normal short sleeves cut off right about at breast level, visually widening your breasts and shoulders, and it's NOT attractive. Cap sleeves curve upwards at the top of the arm, making your arm look longer and leaner. I know that EVERY woman hates their arms and thinks that they are fat and flabby, but guess what! You won't CARE when you're outside in 100 degree whether at a sweltering renaissance festival. Plus, I honestly do feel it's a flattering length for the arm, and I don't like my arms either!
*I was brilliant enough to figure out how to sew the elastic into the blouse AS I stitched the neckline hem, and that way the elastic won't twist and slide around in the neck seam (ARRGGG!)
*These are hip length and are serged around the bottom instead of having a bulky hem under your skirts.
(Small-Bust measurement of about 30 to 36)
(Medium-Bust measurement of about 37 to 44)
(Large/XL-Bust measurement of about 44 to 52)
*These come in a lovely and lightweight off-white cotton. We will have more colors in the future as we're able to obtain good blouse fabrics!
